The place looks very nice. Its clean, the service is fast and the music is very trendy. The liquor selection is decent. The taco selection is based on the meat they serve. It's a hit or miss but the drinks make up for the tacos

The Tacos were so good and the queso too. I had the Fish & Chips, the Mediterranean and mushrooms, and the Korean fried rice. All three were so unique and very flavorful. Plus the red curry coconut queso was really a great side. I would definitely recommend. Very friendly staff and I can't wait to go back and try something new on the menu.

To assume Velvet Taco is Mexican food wouldn’t be fair for Mexican food nor to the work and results these guys put into creating a new segment in what i define as hybrid Mexican inspired food. I was craving Mexican street tacos and googled tacos and this place caught my attention, so I had to give it a shot. Glad I did! It became an instant favorite of mine! Can’t wait to try fish tacos next! I had all three pork tacos and was floored by the originality of the food and how well trained and nice the staff is.

Thanks to our friends for bringing us here on our recent trip to visit them. We literally ordered all the tacos from the menu and thoroughly enjoyed them! Super creative tacos in a vibrant space with great service. Can't wait to go back to Houston and eat more Velvet Tacos. Please open new locations in San Francisco Bay Area!

Milette did a great job accommodating our dietary needs! Since we were only ordering vegetarian and seafood options, she said we can order any of the other tacos and they can replace the protein with paneer, tofu or cauliflower! Which broadened our options. Great food, great service!

When you want to try something new and different, give Velvet Taco a try. You won’t be disappointed. It’s a twist on the classic taco. Their menu has many different combinations and flavors. Catered to suit anyone’s needs. The host was extra nice to help a friends first time, and went the extra mile to make sure he got items he would enjoy. We will be back, and look forward to the new location opening in the Baybrook shopping center.

Stumbled upon Velvet Taco after picking up cookies from across the street. Friendly helpful staff at Velvet Taco. Order at the counter and pick up at the counter. Interesting menu with a good variety of tacos to choose from. I got the shrimp and grits tacos, they were good. We also had chips and queso. Soda, water and beer are in the cooler. Margaritas are on the menu, too.
